The
Glittering Hill is a 12-movement piece for orchestra and choir composed
by Daniel Bukvich about his home town, Butte, Montana. It celebrates the
rich mining heritage of Butte. I was asked to create liner notes and corresponding
illustrations for each movement based on well-known, historical photos.
(A multi-media project through the Information
Design Group at the University of Idaho
of which I was a part was also created during the same time that this CD
was created and much of the artwork was used for both applications. The
front cover illustration/collage seen here was created by the project's
leader, Ludmilla Saskova.)
