I was recently asked to come up with a very simple redesign for the Moscow Lab's web site. I drew from the colors and styles used in the greater USDA Forest Service's publications. In addition, I had the opportunity to code new pages using Javascript and PHP that dynamically display the latest climate data and predictions calculated by USDA Forest Service scientists.

This demo was created with Flash as a pilot for an interactive CD in 2002. I was one of four students working on the project in an information design class at the University of Idaho. A 12-movement musical compositon by Daniel Bukvich about Butte, Montana was combined with historical and sociological information about it's rich past collected and written by John Mihelich.
Completion of this pilot happened as a part of the Information Design Group at the University of Idaho. For more information about the Information Design Group, please contact the University of Idaho Art Department. Team members included Ludmilla Saskova (team lead), Jeff Gray, Ashley Horrall, and Susan Weaver.

This site was designed in the late 1990s to attract new students. I wanted to illustrate rhythm and sticking patterns visually in a way that wouldn't be cliché and that would keep file sizes small.
