After earning a music degree and then working as a program coordinator for the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival at the University of Idaho for a number of years, I went back to school at the University of Idaho and graduated with a BFA in Graphic/Interface Design in May of 2000. I have since been doing contract web and print design work for a number of employers and private clients. My background in music has led to some music-related print and multi-media projects.
I really enjoy creating custom web sites for clients. Graphic designers are lucky in my opinion because they get to learn about many different topics as a part of their work. I've learned about subjects from soil erosion, climate change, and chemical engineering to beading, quilting, and jazz history.
In my spare time I enjoy playing music (drums, marimba, and hammer dulcimer), running, reading, and creating art. I've recently been taking images of my paintings and making them into jewelry. I have been selling my jewelry as well as prints and greeting cards of my paintings at the Winter Market in Moscow, Idaho. If you're interested in my artwork, check out my art web site.
About a year ago I bought a beading loom from Jeanne Leffingwell. I've found beading with a loom to be fun and relaxing. The bracelets that I've been making will be for sale at the Winter Market as well (so I can afford to purchase more beads!). If you're interested in trying it yourself and you're near Moscow, ID, go by the Prichard Art Gallery's gift shop and purchase one of Jeanne's beading kits.
